Understanding Price: Why It’s Not Just About the Cost

Hey people, Bob here. Listen, I wanted to talk to you a little bit about price.

We hear it all the time, especially now that prices have gone up so much.

Yes, It's Expensive - And Here's Why

My gosh, it's so expensive.Absolutely, it’s expensive. I'm never gonna say, "Oh no, it’s not." Yeah, it is, because it's extremely expensive to operate a business these days.

• The cost of fuel has doubled just to send vehicles out to people’s homes.

• Cost of insurance has gone up.

• The cost of vehicles, my gosh, if you tried to buy a used one lately, you’ve seen they went through the roof.

• The cost of materials, some stuff has gone up 300 percent.

So yes, the cost of doing business is a lot higher today than it was just two years ago.

Prices May Fluctuate, But Value Matters

Hopefully, the prices of materials and things will come down.Hopefully, the price of gas, we’ve seen it drop a little, hopefully, it’ll drop some more. But all of that is reflected in the price. There’s also other things reflected in the price that people often don’t think about.

Fast and Good Won’t Be Cheap

You can do a job fast and good.In order to do a job fast and good, you have to have quality people, because they need to know what they're doing and have the experience to get it done quickly. And also, you need the right tools to get it done good and fast.But it’s not going to be cheap, because the best technicians earn the most money, plain and simple.

Do you really want the cheapest guy in your home, working on your electrical system?

I’ve got to be honest with you, it’s the cheapest guy that usually makes the most mistakes.That’s what causes me to get the most business, because we have to go back and do it right.

• Fast and good is not going to be cheap.

• You want it good and cheap? It’s not going to be fast.

The cheapest guy doesn’t know what they're doing, will often make more mistakes, and lead to callbacks. They overbook themselves, so you think they’re coming back tomorrow, and they’re a no-show for the next three weeks. Then you finally have to hire somebody else to fix what they did. Now it’s cost you twice as much.

Look Beyond the Price Tag

You don’t want to go that route. You want to look at something besides price alone, quality.

When you hire us, that’s it. Cheap is not in our vocabulary.We don’t want cheap.I don’t want anything cheap going in my customers’ homes.I don’t want cheap material, I don’t want cheap labor installing it.

We Deliver Quality, Period

I want you to have the best. And unfortunately, that costs a little bit more than somebody else. Yes, you could shop around, and you will find it cheaper.

• Handymen, they’ll do it all the time.

• Illegal, not licensed, no insurance.

No, I want to give you:

• The best work

• The highest quality

• The best warranty

• Covered by the greatest insurance that you can get, just in case

So that you can sleep at night and not have to worry.

I Stand By My Work

I’m not going to put my name or my company’s name on something that I wouldn’t want in my own home. So think about that, please, when you’re deciding on price.

Don’t just go by dollar amount. Nope, it’s not worth it. Really, it’s not. Honest. Besides, you can hire somebody else, you don’t get me. And I’m here for the duration.
